Liam Payne 911 Caller Said One Direction Star’s Life Could Be in Danger Minutes Before Death

Hotel Employee Seeks Immediate Help Before Fatal Fall of Musician Liam Payne

On a tragic Wednesday, an urgent 911 call was made by a hotel employee requesting emergency assistance before British musician Liam Payne fell fatally from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires. Liam Payne, aged 31 and formerly a member of the boy band One Direction, died following a leap from the balcony of his room, according to Pablo Policicchio, the Communications Director for the Buenos Aires Security Ministry. He informed the Associated Press that the police responded to an incident at the Casa Sur Hotel after receiving a call shortly after 5 p.m. local time. The caller described an “aggressive man who might be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.”

Incident of One Direction’s Liam Payne’s Passing in Argentina

The BBC released a transcript of the 911 call, revealing a hotel worker explaining the dire situation to the dispatcher, stating the presence of “a guest high on drugs who is wrecking the room” and requesting immediate intervention. The call suggests the operator sought confirmation regarding the guest’s aggression and the name of the hotel, but the initial call was cut off before a response could be provided.

In a subsequent call, the employee reiterated the nature of the issue, voicing fears regarding the potential risk to the guest’s well-being. The caller said, “We have a guest who’s consumed excessive drugs and alcohol, and during his sober moments, he vandalizes the whole room. Please, send someone.” He emphasized urgency by stating, “His life might be at risk, he’s in a room with a balcony, and we fear for his safety.”

Concerns Over the Guest’s Safety

Identified as Esteban, the hotel’s chief receptionist, the caller queried whether police or emergency medical services (SAME) would respond. Expressing a preference, he requested “just the SAME” be sent to the location. The operator responded, highlighting that the SAME does not enter premises alone when informed someone is influenced by drugs and alcohol. The call ended shortly thereafter.

Alberto Crescenti, head of the SAME, stated that upon arrival at the hotel, Payne was discovered with “injuries incompatible with life,” as reported by Argentina’s La Nacion. Crescenti confirmed that Payne succumbed to injuries after falling from a height of nearly 14 meters, equating to 46 feet, affirming “no possibility of resuscitation.” Payne was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Brief Interval Between Emergency Call and Tragic Incident

The newspaper report indicated a brief six-minute period between the emergency call and Payne’s fall. This tragic event highlights the swiftness with which circumstances can turn dire, despite attempts to intervene.
