Reports suggest that Thomas Tuchel and the English Football Association (FA) have quickly agreed on a contract for Tuchel to serve as the national coach. An official confirmation of this surprising development is anticipated at an FA press conference, implying that negotiations that had been intensifying over the past few days have now been finalized.
Despite this, there are still a number of unresolved issues. According to sources, the former coach of Borussia Dortmund and FC Bayern will not commence his new role until the turn of the year. The last two Nations League games, against Greece and Ireland in mid-November, are slated to be handled by interim coach Lee Carsley.
Carsley took over the team temporarily following Gareth Southgate’s departure after the defeat in the European Championship final against Spain and has been unable to impress during his tenure. After England’s embarrassing 1-2 loss against Greece last week, the FA leadership may have accelerated their efforts to secure Tuchel.
